About us

The head of this support group, Danielle Reynolds, was seen by many as happy, successful, and in a good place in life overall.  In June 2015 though, she began to feel a change within herself. By April 2016 she was admitted to St Josephs' Hospital, a well-known mental health facility in the Durban area, for Anxiety and Burn-out.

Phrases like "but you don't look ill?" or "why can't you just let it go?" became all too familiar along this journey, and upon her discharge from the hospital, she started this support group in the Durban area with the aim of lending support to those who still need to face the stigma attached to mental health on a regular basis.

With the support of The South-African Depression & Anxiety Support Group (SADAG), the country's largest and most recognised mental health initiative, we are committed to bringing people of all ages and race groups together to discuss and find support within a group of people who are either suffering with, or have been affected by Anxiety and/or Depression.

We are one of over 160 support groups nationally, and as such have access to professional counselling staff headquartered in Sandton in Gauteng. With their help, we are able to provide brochures and other educational materials (such as their webinars) on a variety of issues linked to Anxiety and Depression, as well as a referral service to mental health professionals, and access to workshops and training programmes.
